Job Title: Mason for Residential Construction in Los Angeles
We are hiring a skilled Mason to join our growing team in Los Angeles. As a Mason, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining residential structures using various types of masonry materials. This is a full-time position with an attractive salary of $1100 per month.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mason in residential construction
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
- Proficient in laying bricks, stones, and other types of masonry materials
- Knowledgeable in mixing mortar and applying it to achieve desired consistency
- Familiar with using hand and power tools commonly used in masonry work
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors for extended periods of time
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as forklifts or cherry pickers is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction site by clearing debris and organizing necessary materials
- Lay bricks, stones, or other masonry materials according to the construction plan provided
- Cut or shape bricks according to specific needs using hand or power tools
- Apply mortar between layers of bricks to secure them in place
- Use levels, rulers, or plumb bobs to ensure proper alignment and levelness of structures being built or repaired
- Repair damaged masonry structures by replacing broken bricks or stones and filling gaps with new mortar
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate is an experienced Mason who takes pride in their work. They must have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. This job requires standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Prior experience working on residential construction projects is preferred.
