Entry Level Librarian


We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our library team as an Entry Level Librarian in the city of Svalbard. As a librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and organizing events and programs for all age groups.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in using library management software
- Knowledge of cataloging principles and information resources

Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by selecting, acquiring, organizing, and maintaining materials
- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries in person, over the phone, or online
- Plan and organize events and programs such as book clubs, author talks, and workshops for all age groups
- Maintain the library's online presence through social media platforms and website updates
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new services and improve existing ones
- Train new library staff on procedures and policies
- Keep up-to-date with trends in information resources, technology, and library services

Salary:
This is an entry level position with a salary of 1400$ per month. This salary is subject to review based on performance.

Location:
