Job Title: Librarian for Salalah Public Library (Indian Nationals Only)


Salalah Public Library is seeking an experienced Librarian to join our team and oversee the management of our library's collection, resources, and services. This is a full-time position based in Salalah, Oman, and we are specifically looking for Indian nationals to fill this role.

As a Librarian, you will be responsible for selecting, acquiring, organizing, and maintaining the library's collection of books, periodicals, audio/visual materials, and other resources. You will also be in charge of developing and implementing programs and services that meet the needs of our community members.

Key Responsibilities:
- Selecting and acquiring materials for the library's collection based on the needs of the community
- Cataloguing and classifying materials according to accepted standards
- Organizing and maintaining the physical layout of the library's collection
- Assisting patrons with research inquiries and providing reference services
- Developing programs and services to engage community members with library resources
- Managing circulation processes such as loaning materials, processing returns, and issuing fines
- Collaborating with other staff members to promote library events and initiatives
- Ensuring that all materials are properly shelved and accessible to patrons
- Maintaining accurate records of library usage statistics

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a librarian in a public or academic setting
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of library systems and cataloguing standards
- Familiarity with various research methods and reference sources
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus)
- Prior experience working with diverse communities is preferred

Salary:
This is a full-time position with a salary of 900$ per month. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including free visa and ticket for successful candidates.
