Smelter Operator


We are currently hiring a skilled Smelter Operator to join our team in Nairobi. As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining smelting equipment to convert ore and other materials into metal or refine metal. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1100 per month.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate smelting machinery including furnaces, kilns, and converters to melt ore or refine metal
- Monitor equipment and adjust controls as needed to maintain proper temperature, pressure, and flow
- Inspect equipment for any defects or malfunctions and report any issues to the supervisor
- Add chemicals or fluxes to molten metal as directed
- Pour molten metal into molds or ladles for further processing
- Monitor and record production data such as temperatures, pressures, and flow rates
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as replacing parts or cleaning machinery
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear while working

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Smelter Operator in a similar environment
- Knowledge of operating smelting equipment including furnaces, kilns, and converters
- Ability to read and interpret production data and make adjustments as needed
- Basic understanding of chemical reactions involved in smelting process
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential issues before they become major problems

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position with occasional overtime required. The work schedule may include weekends and night shifts depending on production needs. The job may require standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy objects, and working in hot environments.
