Head Pastry Chef
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Oslo, Norway. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing all pastry and dessert offerings for our restaurant. Your creativity and attention to detail will be essential in developing new and flavorful desserts that will delight our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new pastry and dessert menu items that align with our restaurant's concept
- Oversee the production of all pastries and desserts, ensuring high quality and consistency
- Train, mentor, and supervise pastry chefs, bakers, and other kitchen staff
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of various pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail
- In-depth knowledge of ingredient quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience as a Pastry Chef
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a professional kitchen
- Experience with menu creation preferred
- Fluent in English (Norwegian language skills are a plus)
Salary: $900 per month (negotiable based on experience)
