Preservation Architect
We are in search of a highly skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Faro, Portugal. Our ideal candidate will have a strong passion for preserving historical buildings and structures and will possess knowledge of architectural conservation principles and practices.
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for conducting surveys, assessments, and studies on historic buildings to determine their condition and recommend appropriate preservation methods. You will also develop and implement preservation plans for the protection of historic sites and work closely with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the proper execution of preservation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct surveys, assessments, and studies on historic buildings to determine their condition
- Develop preservation plans for the protection of historic sites
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure proper execution of preservation projects
- Research and apply architectural conservation principles and practices
- Document existing conditions of historic structures through drawings, photographs, and written reports
- Provide recommendations for appropriate preservation methods
- Prepare cost estimates for preservation projects
- Monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to preservation standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in architectural conservation or preservation projects
- Knowledge of architectural conservation principles and practices
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software preferred
