Executive Chef
The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, menu planning, and staff management. They must have excellent culinary skills and a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating menus that cater to diverse tastes and dietary restrictions. They must also possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with prior experience in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurants are preferred.
The Executive Chef's main responsibilities include:
- Creating menus that combine culinary innovation with customer preferences
- Ensuring food quality and presentation meet high standards
- Managing inventory, budget, and cost control for the kitchen
- Hiring, training, and supervising kitchen staff
- Maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment in compliance with health codes
- Collaborating with the restaurant manager to plan events and special menus
- Continuously researching new ingredients, techniques, and menu ideas
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Creative mindset with a passion for experimenting with new dishes
- Proficiency in menu planning software is a plus
