Cashier at Busy Retail Store in Svalbard


As a Cashier at our busy retail store in Svalbard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations at the point of sale. Your main responsibility will be to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide friendly and efficient service at the checkout counter
- Scan and bag products accurately and efficiently using a cash register or other point-of-sale system
- Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions with precision
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including restocking bags, receipt paper, and other supplies
- Answer customer questions about products, prices, promotions, and store policies
- Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies
- Follow proper cash handling procedures and balance cash register at the end of each shift
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely resolution of customer issues or complaints

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Prior experience as a cashier or in a similar role preferred but not required
- Excellent math skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately and quickly
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers in a friendly manner
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
