Executive Chef - Nairobi, Kenya
Our luxury hotel in Nairobi is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and create exceptional dining experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a background in fine dining and a passion for creating innovative and high-quality dishes using local ingredients.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and design menus, considering dietary restrictions and seasonal availability of ingredients
- Oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
- Manage inventory, ordering and budgeting to meet financial targets
- Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain a positive work environment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special events or themed menus
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- In-depth knowledge of culinary trends, techniques, and local ingredients in Kenya
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication skills in English (Swahili is a plus)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Salary: $1700 per month (negotiable based on experience)
