Surveying Technician
As a Surveying Technician, you will be responsible for conducting field and office work related to land surveying. This includes using various tools and equipment to measure and map out land areas, collecting and analyzing data, and creating detailed reports for clients. You will also assist in the development of maps, plans, and other documents for construction projects. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field surveys using tools such as global positioning systems (GPS), total stations, levels, and other equipment
- Collect data on land features, including boundaries, topography, and existing structures
- Analyze survey data to create accurate maps and plans
- Prepare reports detailing survey findings for clients
- Assist in the development of maps, plans, and other documents for construction projects
- Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure it is in good working condition
- Adhere to safety protocols while working on site
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in geomatics or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience as a surveying technician or a similar role is an asset
- Familiarity with surveying tools such as GPS units, total stations, levels, etc.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data accurately
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Salary: $1000 per month
Location: Muscat (Canadian nationality preferred)
