Dietitian for Nepali Community in Washington
As a Dietitian for the Nepali community in Washington, you will be responsible for providing culturally sensitive and personalized nutrition counseling to individuals and families. You will work closely with clients to develop and implement nutrition plans that meet their specific needs and support their overall health goals. Additionally, you will conduct group education sessions and workshops to promote healthy eating habits within the Nepali community.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients' current dietary habits, medical history, and nutritional needs
- Develop personalized nutrition plans based on clients' goals, cultural preferences, and health conditions
- Monitor clients' progress and make necessary adjustments to their nutrition plans
- Provide individualized counseling sessions to address specific concerns or challenges related to diet and nutrition
- Lead group education sessions on various topics such as healthy meal planning, label reading, and portion control
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for clients
- Stay updated on current research and trends in the field of dietetics and apply them in practice
- Document all client interactions accurately and maintain confidentiality of client information
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited institution
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a dietitian, preferably with Nepali communities
- Proficient in English; knowledge of Nepali language is a plus but not required
- Strong understanding of cultural differences and ability to provide culturally sensitive care
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex nutrition concepts in simple terms
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals
- Proven experience in developing effective nutrition plans for diverse populations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US with visa sponsorship available if needed
