A high-end restaurant in Eldoret, Kenya is seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing dessert menus that exceed our customers' expectations. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute dessert menus that align with the restaurant's concept and quality standards
- Create new and unique pastry dishes that showcase your talent and creativity
- Ensure all pastries are consistently prepared to the highest standards of taste, texture, and presentation
- Manage inventory and ordering of all pastry ingredients
- Train and mentor junior pastry chefs on techniques, recipes, and plating presentations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pastry station
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless execution of dishes during service hours
- Follow all food safety guidelines and regulations

Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Advanced knowledge of various pastry techniques, including cake decorating, chocolate work, and sugar art
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for aesthetics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop new dessert concepts that align with seasonal ingredients or special occasions
- Proven track record of managing inventory levels and controlling food costs

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Culinary degree or certification in Pastry Arts preferred.

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $1400 per month based on experience.
