Freelance Interpreter


We are in need of a skilled and experienced freelance interpreter to join our team in Svalbard. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for accurately translating spoken language between two or more parties. This is a freelance position with a salary of 1800$ per month.

Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate interpretation between two or more parties in various settings, including business meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Ensure that the tone and meaning of the original message is accurately conveyed in the target language.
- Research and familiarize yourself with relevant terminology to ensure accurate interpretation.
- Maintain confidentiality and neutrality throughout the interpreting process.
- Provide cultural context and explanations when necessary to facilitate understanding between parties.

Requirements:
- Fluency in at least two languages, including English and one of the following: Russian, Norwegian, Polish or Swedish.
- Proven experience as an interpreter, preferably in a professional setting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts clearly and accurately.
- Strong research skills and ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new subject matter.
- Ability to remain neutral and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Working Conditions:
This is a freelance position without accommodation. As such, you will be responsible for arranging your own housing. Candidates must also have their own valid visa for working in Svalbard.
