Interpreter - Svalbard


We are in need of a skilled Interpreter to join our team in Svalbard. As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient interpretation services between individuals or groups who speak different languages.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct accurate and efficient interpretation between two or more parties who do not speak the same language
- Translate written materials such as documents, reports, and correspondence
- Ensure that the tone and context of the original message is maintained during interpretation
- Provide cultural and linguistic expertise to facilitate effective communication between parties
- Act as a liaison between individuals or groups, conveying messages accurately and effectively
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Attend meetings, conferences, and other events as needed to provide interpretation services
- Research terminology in relevant fields to ensure accuracy of translations

Requirements:
- Proven fluency in at least two languages (including English)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages
- Knowledge of cultural differences and the ability to adapt communication accordingly
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professionalism in all situations
- Strong research skills and attention to detail
- Previous experience as an interpreter preferred but not required
- Biometric passport or ability to obtain one
- Willingness to relocate to Svalbard

Salary: $1300 per month.
