Pastry Chef at a Filipino Restaurant in Nairobi
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pastry Chef to join our team at a Filipino restaurant in Nairobi. The ideal candidate should have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries and desserts that reflect the flavors and traditions of the Philippines.
Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of Filipino-inspired pastries, cakes, and desserts
- Develop new recipes and menu items for the pastry section
- Ensure high quality of all pastry products through consistent taste, presentation, and freshness
- Train and supervise other pastry chefs and kitchen staff
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies needed for pastry production
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area at all times
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a restaurant setting
- Knowledge of traditional Filipino desserts and pastries is preferred but not required
- Strong creativity and ability to develop unique flavor combinations
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills in English (knowledge of Tagalog is a plus)
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Salary: 1000$ per month
