Head Chef - Svalbard
As a Head Chef in our high-end restaurant located in Svalbard, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen and leading a team of talented chefs. Your primary goal will be to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our guests while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Create innovative and seasonal menus that reflect local ingredients and international cuisines
- Train and mentor junior chefs to ensure consistency and excellence in food preparation
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fresh ingredients
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations
- Manage kitchen budget and control costs by minimizing waste and optimizing resource utilization
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a reputable restaurant or hotel
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized institution
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and cuisines
- Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining a positive work environment
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail with creativity in menu planning and presentation
