Executive Chef
We are in search of an experienced and creative Executive Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Oslo. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations, from menu creation to food preparation and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for culinary arts and a proven track record of managing a successful kitchen team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative menus that showcase seasonal ingredients and reflect the restaurant's concept
- Oversee food preparation and ensure quality and consistency in all dishes served
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff to maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to stay within budget
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with management to create special events and promotions that highlight the restaurant's cuisine
- Stay updated on industry trends and new techniques to continuously improve the menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent work experience in a professional kitchen
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail to create visually appealing dishes
- Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English (Norwegian is a plus)
Salary:
$1200 per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location:
Oslo, Norway (candidates must be willing to relocate if not already located in Oslo)
