Pastry Chef - Indian Cuisine
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Pastry Chef with experience in Indian cuisine to join our team in Atlanta. As our Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing dessert menus that showcase traditional Indian flavors and techniques. You must have a deep understanding of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods, as well as a passion for creating unique and delicious desserts.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute dessert menus that showcase traditional Indian flavors and techniques
- Develop new recipes and adapt existing ones to incorporate Indian influences
- Source high-quality ingredients and maintain inventory levels
- Train and supervise pastry staff to ensure consistency and quality
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment
- Collaborate with the rest of the culinary team to create cohesive menus
- Stay updated on current food trends in the pastry world, especially related to Indian cuisine
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Experience working with traditional Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking methods
- Strong knowledge of flavor pairings and ability to create unique dessert offerings
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely delivery of desserts during service
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Passion for learning and staying updated on new techniques, ingredients, and trends in the pastry world
Education:
Degree or certification from an accredited culinary school is preferred but not required.
Salary:
Starting salary of $1700 per month with potential for growth based on performance.
Location:
Atlanta, USA (preference for candidates already located in Atlanta or willing to relocate)
Language Preference:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Hindi or other Indian languages is a plus.
