Cashier for a Retail Store in Eldoret, Kenya


We are in need of a reliable and customer-oriented Cashier to join our retail store team in Eldoret, Kenya. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate should have previous experience working as a cashier and have strong math skills.

Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them with their purchases
- Scan items and process payments using electronic cash registers
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with accuracy
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure correct amounts
- Issue receipts, refunds or change to customers when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Monitor inventory levels at the checkout and inform management if supplies are running low
- Answer customer inquiries and resolve any complaints or issues in a professional manner
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations of the store

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education level
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a similar role preferred
- Basic math skills with the ability to handle money accurately
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
