Head Pastry Chef
As the Head Pastry Chef at our high-end bakery in La-Condamine, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pastry department. Your role will involve creating and executing innovative pastry recipes, managing a team of pastry cooks and assistants, and ensuring the highest quality of products are consistently delivered to our customers. You will also be responsible for keeping up with industry trends and implementing new techniques to constantly elevate our menu offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new recipes for pastries, cakes, and desserts that align with our brand's standards and customer preferences
- Train and manage a team of pastry cooks and assistants, providing guidance on techniques, flavor combinations, and presentation
- Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining appropriate stock levels to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure all products are prepared according to established recipes, maintaining consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
- Monitor food costs by accurately measuring ingredients and minimizing waste
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen in accordance with health regulations
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and innovations in pastry techniques to continuously improve menu offerings
- Collaborate with other departments such as purchasing, sales, and marketing to develop new products or promotions
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- In-depth knowledge of various pastry techniques such as tempering chocolate, making laminated doughs, etc.
- Creativity in recipe development while still maintaining consistency in quality
- Ability to lead a team with strong leadership skills
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure
- Strong understanding of food costs and portion control
- Knowledge of health regulations related to food preparation and safety standards
- Proficiency in English (French language skills are a plus)
Salary: 1600$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
