Preservation Architect

Are you a skilled Preservation Architect with a passion for preserving historical buildings and structures? Do you have experience in architectural design, restoration, and conservation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in Alta, Norway!

In this role as a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for assessing the condition of historical buildings and developing plans for their preservation and restoration. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and desires for the preservation project and provide expert guidance on how to maintain the authenticity of the structure while also incorporating modern elements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historical buildings to determine their current condition
- Develop detailed preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and client preferences
- Utilize your knowledge of building materials and methods to ensure authenticity in restoration projects
- Collaborate with other architects, contractors, and engineers to execute preservation plans
- Monitor progress of preservation projects and make adjustments as needed
- Conduct research on historical buildings and their significance in order to inform preservation plans

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in architectural design, restoration, or conservation
- Strong knowledge of building materials, methods, and techniques used in different time periods
- Familiarity with relevant local regulations regarding historic preservation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members
- Attention to detail and ability to balance client preferences with historic authenticity

Salary: $1700 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Alta, Norway (open to candidates from other countries)
