Preservation Architect
We are hiring a Preservation Architect to join our team in Akron. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the preservation and restoration of historical buildings and structures. Your role will include conducting research, developing preservation plans, and collaborating with engineers and contractors to ensure the successful execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on historical buildings and structures to understand their significance and architectural style
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to create detailed project plans
- Oversee the implementation of preservation projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
- Conduct periodic inspections to assess the condition of buildings and structures and make necessary recommendations for repairs or maintenance
- Prepare reports documenting project progress, challenges, and solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in preservation architecture or restoration projects
- Strong knowledge of historical architecture styles, materials, and construction techniques
- Experience working with local regulations and guidelines for historical preservation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or other relevant software programs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members from various backgrounds
- Attention to detail with strong project management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Salary: 1800$
City: Akron
