Head Pastry Chef
As a Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the pastry department in our high-end restaurant located in Svalbard. Your main duties will include creating and designing new pastries and desserts, training and supervising the pastry team, and ensuring that all pastries are prepared and presented to the highest standard.
You should have at least 5 years of experience as a pastry chef, with knowledge of various pastry techniques and ingredients. A degree or certification in culinary arts or pastry making is preferred. You must also have strong leadership skills, as you will be managing a team of pastry chefs and assistants.
As a Head Pastry Chef, you must have excellent time management skills to ensure that all pastries are prepared on time for service. You should also be creative and have a passion for experimenting with new flavors and designs. Attention to detail is crucial in this role, as presentation is key in the world of pastries.
In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the pastry department, you will also be responsible for creating menus for special events such as weddings or parties. As such, strong communication skills are essential to effectively collaborate with other departments.
This position requires working flexible hours including weekends and holidays. You must be able to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive attitude. Physical stamina is also important as this job may require standing for long periods of time.
