Pastry Chef at a Luxury Resort in Svalbard



We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury resort in Svalbard. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious desserts and pastries that will delight our guests. We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role and a strong passion for pastry-making. The ideal candidate should also have excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:
-Design and develop new pastry recipes that align with the resort's menu and concept
-Prepare and bake a variety of desserts, pastries, breads, and other sweet treats
-Ensure high quality standards are met by monitoring the presentation, taste, and freshness of all pastry items
-Manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies for pastry production
-Collaborate with other chefs to create unique dessert offerings for special events and occasions
-Train junior staff members on pastry techniques and recipes
-Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the pastry kitchen area

Requirements:
-Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
-Ability to create visually appealing desserts that taste delicious
-Knowledge of different baking techniques and methods
-Familiarity with baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, etc.
-Good time management skills
-Excellent communication skills
-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
-Degree or certification in culinary arts or related field preferred

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1200$ per month.

Location:
This position is located in Svalbard, an archipelago situated between Norway and the North Pole known for its stunning natural landscapes. The resort is located in Longyearbyen, the largest settlement on the islands.
