Shaper - Clothing Manufacturer (Mombasa, Kenya)


We are a leading clothing manufacturer based in Mombasa, Kenya and we are seeking a skilled and motivated Shaper to join our team. This is a contract job with a salary of 1200$ per month.

As a Shaper, you will be responsible for shaping fabrics and garments to fit specific measurements and designs. Your main duty will be to use various tools and techniques to alter the shape of clothing items according to the specifications provided by our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark fabrics accurately according to client specifications
- Use sewing machines, scissors, and other tools to alter the shape of garments
- Follow patterns and instructions from designers
- Ensure that all finished products meet quality standards
- Communicate with designers and clients regarding any design or measurement issues
- Keep work area clean and organized

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Shaper or similar role in the clothing industry
- Proficiency in using sewing machines, scissors, and other shaping tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements
- Ability to follow patterns and instructions from designers
- Good communication skills for working with designers and clients
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work long hours when needed

Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in fashion design or related field
- Training or certification in pattern making or garment shaping techniques
- Previous experience working with international clients is a plus

This position is open to all nationalities, but preference will be given to Indian candidates who are willing to relocate for the duration of the contract. Accommodation will be provided by the company. Candidates must have their own valid visa for working in Kenya.
