Foundryman - Mombasa, Kenya


We are currently hiring a skilled and experienced Foundryman to join our team in Mombasa, Kenya. As a Foundryman, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our foundry equipment and machinery to produce high quality metal castings. You will also work closely with other team members to ensure production targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain foundry equipment and machinery such as furnaces, molds, ladles, and pouring equipment
- Prepare molds by setting cores, aligning gates and runners, and positioning chaplets or other inserts as needed
- Monitor casting process to ensure proper temperature, metal flow, and mold filling
- Inspect finished castings for defects and make necessary repairs or adjustments
- Maintain accurate records of production data including quantities produced, scrap rates, and any quality issues
- Work with team members to troubleshoot any equipment malfunctions or production issues
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Keep work area clean and organized

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in foundry operations preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Foundryman in a similar role
- Knowledge of foundry processes including melting, pouring, molding, finishing, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings for casting specifications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects in castings
- Good physical stamina as the job may require standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects
