Assistant Librarian
As an Assistant Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Librarian with various tasks related to the organization and management of library resources. This will include cataloguing, shelving, and maintaining library materials, as well as providing support to library patrons. You will also be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the library in the absence of the Head Librarian.
Your main duties will include helping patrons locate materials, answering reference questions, and providing general information about library services. You will also assist with collection development by evaluating new materials and making recommendations for purchase. In addition, you will be responsible for processing new materials and ensuring they are correctly catalogued and shelved.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. You should also possess strong communication skills and enjoy working with diverse groups of people. A degree in Library Science or a related field is preferred but not required.
This is a full-time position that offers a salary of $1200 per month. While English language skills are not required for this position, proficiency in Nepali is preferred. This position does not require prior experience in a library setting; however, experience working in customer service or a similar role is beneficial.
