Head Chef: Indian Cuisine (Mombasa)


We are hiring a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our team in creating and executing authentic Indian dishes at our restaurant in Mombasa. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, menu planning, and ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the menu for our Indian cuisine restaurant
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to traditional Indian recipes and standards
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients to maintain freshness and quality
- Train, supervise, schedule, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain a high level of performance
- Monitor food production to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times
- Oversee food cost control measures to ensure profitability without compromising quality
- Collaborate with management on new menu items, specials, and promotions

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in an Indian cuisine restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, cooking techniques, and regional variations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and communicate with management
- Proven track record of maintaining high food quality standards while managing costs
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1600$ per month for this full-time position.

Location:
This position is based in Mombasa. We welcome applications from both local Kenyan candidates as well as foreigners with relevant experience.

Language Requirement:
Fluency in English is preferred but not required.
