Job Title: Head Pastry Chef
As the Head Pastry Chef at our renowned bakery in Braga, Portugal, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department. This is a hands-on role that requires a passion for creating delicious and beautiful pastries, as well as strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new and innovative pastry recipes and menu items
- Oversee the production and presentation of all pastries
- Train and mentor junior pastry chefs and assistants
- Ensure high quality standards are met consistently
- Order supplies and manage inventory for the pastry department
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special events or promotions
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role
- Culinary degree or certification preferred
- Extensive knowledge of various pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Passion for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries
- Ability to work flexible schedules including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
