Chef de Cuisine

As a Chef de Cuisine, you will lead and manage our kitchen team in Malindi, Egypt. You will be responsible for creating and executing menus, overseeing food preparation, and maintaining quality standards. Your creativity and passion for food will be reflected in every dish you create for our guests. You will also be responsible for ordering supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Your leadership skills will ensure that our team works efficiently and effectively to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our customers.

Your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing creative menus that reflect the local cuisine and utilize fresh, high-quality ingredients
- Preparing food according to recipes and ensuring consistently high standards of taste, presentation, and portion control
- Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment by following all health codes and regulations
- Managing inventory levels to minimize waste and maintain cost controls
- Collaborating with management to develop new dishes or modify existing ones based on customer feedback or seasonal availability of ingredients
- Training, supervising, and mentoring kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food preparation techniques
- Monitoring equipment performance and coordinating repairs or replacements as needed
- Handling any guest complaints related to food quality or service promptly and professionally

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or similar role in a restaurant setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a kitchen team
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, local cuisine, ingredients, sanitation standards, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in English (knowledge of Arabic is an asset)
- Must be able to legally work in Malindi

Salary: $1300 per month (negotiable based on experience)
