Pastry Chef
A luxury hotel in Mombasa is seeking a highly skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a wide variety of pastry items, including cakes, cookies, pastries, and other desserts. You will work closely with the executive chef and kitchen team to ensure the highest quality and presentation of all pastry items. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and an eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of high-quality pastry items according to established recipes
- Develop new creative dessert ideas to enhance the menu offerings
- Ensure all pastry items are presented beautifully and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the executive chef and kitchen team to plan and execute menus
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and place orders as needed
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Excellent knowledge of baking techniques and pastry ingredients
- Creative thinking skills with an ability to develop new desserts
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail with high standards for presentation and taste
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
Salary: $1700 per month
