Excavator Operator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team in Atlanta. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to excavate, move and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction or mining projects. You will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance on the equipment and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating excavators
- Knowledge of construction and excavation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans
- Strong hand-eye coordination and depth perception
- Physical ability to operate heavy equipment for extended periods of time in various weather conditions

Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators to dig trenches, foundations, basements, or drainage ditches as directed by the site supervisor or engineer
- Load and unload trucks with materials using the excavator's bucket or other attachments
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any defects or issues immediately
- Complete work orders accurately and timely, documenting any necessary information such as hours worked, materials used, etc.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others on the job site
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding project progress, issues, changes in plans, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance on the equipment such as greasing moving parts, changing oil/filters, etc.
- Continuously monitor job site conditions to identify potential hazards or obstacles that may affect excavation work

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1600 per month. Salary may vary based on experience level.

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position working 40+ hours per week. The majority of the work will take place on construction or mining sites. The work may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, and vibrations. You must be physically able to stand, sit, bend, and lift heavy objects for extended periods of time.
