Sous Chef - Malayalee Cuisine


We are a high-end restaurant in Washington, seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef specializing in Malayalee cuisine. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and update menu items, ensuring that they reflect authentic Malayalee flavors and ingredients
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Oversee all food preparation and ensure quality control of all dishes leaving the kitchen
- Maintain inventory levels of food and supplies, placing orders when necessary
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards

Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel with a focus on Malayalee cuisine
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Malayalee recipes, ingredients, and cooking techniques
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal culinary training or degree
- Experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants or other highly-rated establishments

Salary: $1200 per month. We offer competitive pay based on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef looking for growth opportunities within our company.
