Head Pastry Chef
We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Sofia. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department, including creating and executing menus, managing inventory and ordering supplies, training and supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry making, strong leadership skills, and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Pastry Chef to showcase their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Salary: $1000/month
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria (Open to Kenyans, foreigners welcome)
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of various pastry techniques and ingredients
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English (other languages are a plus)
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Create new pastry menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Train and supervise pastry staff on proper techniques, hygiene standards, and safety procedures
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure all pastries are prepared to meet high-quality standards
- Oversee the maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Collaborate with other chefs to develop new recipes
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate them into menu planning
