Part-Time Carpenter


We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team on a part-time basis in Funchal. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials. You will also be required to work with hand and power tools to cut, shape, and smooth materials according to specifications.

To be successful in this role, you must have prior experience as a Carpenter and possess excellent carpentry skills. You must also have the ability to read blueprints, follow building codes, and work independently. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills are essential in this role.

Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using rulers, pencils, chalk lines, or marking gauges
- Cut or saw boards, timbers, or plywood to specified sizes using power saws or hand tools
- Install structures or fixtures such as windows, frames, floorings, trimmings or hardware using carpenter's hand or power tools
- Fill cracks or other defects in plaster or plasterboard with patching plaster
- Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using electric routers or saws

Requirements:
- Prior experience working as a Carpenter
- Ability to read blueprints and follow building codes
- Strong knowledge of different carpentry techniques and tools
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good physical dexterity with the ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Own visa preferred but not required
- Must have own accommodation in Funchal
- Must be flexible with scheduling as this is a part-time position

Salary: 1500$ per month (based on experience)
Location: Funchal (own accommodation required)
