Network and Systems Administrator

A reputable IT company in Funchal is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network and Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our network infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems.

Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Implement security measures to protect the network from cyber threats
- Manage user accounts and access permissions for our systems
- Perform regular backups of critical data and ensure disaster recovery procedures are in place
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in networking technology
- Collaborate with other IT team members to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in network administration or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.
- Experience with Cisco or Juniper network equipment is preferred
- Familiarity with Windows Server operating systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Fluency in English (Portuguese proficiency is a plus)
