Librarian vacancy in Muscat Oman

Librarian (Malayalees Preferred)

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team in Muscat. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the library, including maintaining the collection, assisting patrons, and overseeing library programs and events. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Library Science or a related field, as well as strong communication and customer service skills. Fluency in English is required for this position. This job is suitable for men and part-time work arrangements can be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the library, including cataloging, shelving, and organizing materials
- Provide excellent customer service to patrons by assisting with research requests, recommending books/resources, and answering questions
- Plan and implement library programs and events to engage the community
- Maintain accurate records of library materials, circulation statistics, and patron information
- Stay up-to-date on new library technology and trends in librarianship
- Train and supervise library staff members

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Proven experience as a Librarian or similar role
- Strong communication skills in English (fluency is required)
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with library management systems and technology
- Knowledge of Malayalam language preferred (but not required)

Salary: 1600$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Muscat (Malayalee candidates preferred)
