Librarian

We are seeking a knowledgeable and organized Librarian to join our team at the Muscat Library. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting literacy and learning within the community.

Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain the library's collection of books, magazines, and other materials
- Assist patrons with finding materials, conducting research, and using library resources
- Develop and conduct educational programs for library patrons of all ages
- Promote literacy by creating displays, hosting events, and collaborating with local schools
- Manage the library's budget and make purchasing decisions for new materials
- Train and supervise library staff members and volunteers
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and statistics

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a library setting
- Knowledge of cataloging systems, reference resources, and information technology used in libraries
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong communication skills to interact with patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Passion for promoting literacy and lifelong learning within the community

We offer a competitive salary of 1400$ per month as well as opportunities for professional development. This position is open to all nationalities, but candidates with experience working in a multicultural environment will be given preference.
