Pastry Chef
The Pastry Chef will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of pastry dishes including cakes, cookies, pastries, and breads. They will work closely with the head chef and kitchen staff to develop new recipes and maintain high quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a strong understanding of different pastry techniques. Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or bakery is required. The Pastry Chef must also possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of pastry cooks and assistants. This position is located in Mecca and is open to candidates of all nationalities.
Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of pastry dishes according to menu specifications
- Develop new recipes and suggest menu changes based on customer preferences
- Maintain high quality standards for all pastries served
- Train, supervise, and manage a team of pastry cooks and assistants
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of all pastry ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels for pastry ingredients and supplies
- Collaborate with the head chef to plan seasonal menus for special events
- Follow food safety guidelines at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen or bakery setting
- Diploma or degree in culinary arts or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of different pastry techniques including cake decorating, chocolate work, sugar work, etc.
- Ability to create new recipes and adapt existing ones to suit customer preferences
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, supervise, and motivate a team
- Understanding of food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures for perishable goods
Salary: $1300/month (negotiable based on experience)
