Executive Chef - Indian Cuisine (Nairobi)



Our high-end restaurant in Nairobi is seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef specializing in Indian cuisine. As the head of our kitchen, you will be responsible for creating and executing our menu, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee menu items featuring traditional and modern Indian dishes
- Create new dishes and update existing ones to keep the menu fresh and exciting
- Ensure all dishes are prepared with high quality ingredients and presented beautifully
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and cost control to maximize profitability
- Train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate kitchen staff to maintain a strong team
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization to meet health code standards
- Collaborate with management team to plan special events or promotions featuring Indian cuisine
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, techniques, ingredients, and equipment related to Indian cuisine

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef specializing in Indian cuisine
- Extensive knowledge of traditional and modern Indian dishes as well as cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with other departments and provide clear direction to staff
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and cost control measures
- Knowledge of health code regulations related to food preparation
Salary: $1000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
