Head Pastry Chef


We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Nakuru. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department, including menu planning, recipe development, and training and managing a team of pastry chefs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry and a strong understanding of flavors and techniques. You must also have excellent leadership skills and be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Create new and innovative pastry dishes that meet our standards of quality and creativity
- Develop recipes that showcase seasonal ingredients and incorporate global flavors
- Train, mentor, and supervise our team of pastry chefs to ensure consistency in food quality
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients to maintain stock levels
- Oversee the preparation, presentation, and delivery of all pastries for events or special occasions
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with other departments to create cohesive menus for events or special promotions

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume establishment
- Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, flavor combinations, and presentation styles
- Creativity in developing new recipes while also maintaining classic favorites
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team effectively
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Degree or certification from a culinary institute is preferred
- Fluent in English

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $1200 per month for this position.
