Are you a skilled and creative Pastry Chef looking for an exciting new opportunity? Our luxury hotel in Funchal, Portugal is seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. As the Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing delectable desserts and pastries for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods according to menu specifications
- Ensure high quality standards are maintained in all pastry production
- Develop new dessert recipes and menu items in collaboration with the Head Chef
- Train and supervise pastry assistants to maintain consistency in production
- Manage inventory and ordering of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pastry kitchen
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Excellent knowledge of different types of desserts, pastries, baking techniques, and presentation styles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team
- Creativity and innovation in developing new dessert recipes
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Fluent in English (Portuguese language skills are a plus)
