Welder Supervisor
As a Welder Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of welders and ensuring that all welding projects are completed efficiently and to high quality standards. Your main duties will include coordinating and assigning tasks to team members, monitoring progress and providing guidance as needed, as well as inspecting finished work to ensure it meets specifications.
To excel in this role, you should have excellent leadership skills and be able to effectively communicate and delegate tasks. Previous experience as a welder and supervisory experience are required. The ability to read blueprints and follow specifications is also essential.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and assign tasks to welding team members based on project requirements
- Monitor progress of projects and provide guidance or support as needed
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance
- Train new team members on welding techniques and safety procedures
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment needed for welding projects
- Collaborate with other departments or contractors on project requirements
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations at all times
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during welding processes
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in welding, preferably in a supervisory role
- Ability to read blueprints and follow specifications accurately
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Knowledge of different welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding
- Experience with various types of materials including steel, aluminum, etc.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred
