We are a leading debt collection agency in Bungoma, Kenya seeking a motivated and driven Debt Collection Agent to join our team. As a Debt Collection Agent, you will be responsible for contacting debtors and negotiating payment plans to resolve outstanding debts.

Responsibilities:
- Contact debtors via phone, email or letter to initiate debt collection process
- Negotiate payment plans or settlements with debtors based on their financial situation
- Maintain accurate records of all communications with debtors and update database accordingly
- Monitor payment plans and follow up with debtors for any missed payments
- Escalate cases to senior management when necessary
- Adhere to company policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in finance or related field is a plus
- Proven experience in debt collection or customer service role preferred but not required
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills; proficiency in other languages is a plus
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
- Ability to work independently and meet targets within specified time frames
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations regarding debt collection is a plus
