Head Pastry Chef
We are currently seeking an experienced and creative Head Pastry Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in the bustling city of Oslo. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the pastry department, ensuring that all pastries and desserts are made to the highest standard.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new and innovative pastry dishes
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the pastry department
- Create work schedules, assign tasks, and supervise the pastry team
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure that all pastries are made in accordance with food safety regulations
- Train and mentor new pastry team members
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus
- Monitor food cost and quality control to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Extensive knowledge of various baking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and methods
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Creative mindset with a passion for developing new dishes
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations
- Fluent in English (Norwegian is a plus)
Salary:
The salary for this position is $1500 per month.
