Job Title: Librarian



We are seeking a skilled Librarian to join our team in the beautiful city of Almada. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, providing assistance to patrons, and promoting literacy and a love for reading.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and organize the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials
- Develop and implement library programs and activities to promote literacy and reading
- Provide assistance to patrons in finding materials, using technology, and answering reference questions
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions, including loans, returns, and fines
- Develop and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and other institutions to promote the library's services
- Train and supervise library staff volunteers
- Stay up-to-date with new information resources, technologies, trends in library science

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Knowledge of current trends in library science and information resources
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Proficiency in using technology for cataloging, circulation management, and reference services
- Fluency in English (additional language skills are a plus)
