Heavy Equipment Operator

A heavy equipment operator is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy machinery, such as bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, and cranes. They will work in the construction industry, performing tasks such as digging trenches, moving earth and materials, and loading and unloading heavy objects. The ideal candidate for this position should have a solid understanding of how to operate different types of equipment safely and efficiently, as well as the ability to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of heavy equipment according to job site requirements
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Follow safety procedures and protocols at all times
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding job tasks
- Read and interpret blueprints or other construction plans
- Inspect equipment before and after use to identify any potential issues

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating heavy equipment in a construction setting
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception
- Basic knowledge of mechanics and troubleshooting techniques
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment

Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position with flexible hours. The candidate must have their own valid visa to work in Funchal. Accommodation will not be provided.

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1500 per month.
