Junior Librarian in Svalbard


We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Junior Librarian to join our team in Svalbard. As a librarian, you will be responsible for assisting with library operations and providing excellent customer service to our patrons. This is a full-time position with a salary of 900$ and includes free visa and ticket for our international applicants.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of library materials
- Provide reference and research assistance to library users
- Conduct inventory checks and assist with collection development
- Create engaging displays and programs to promote library resources
- Assist with circulation duties including checking materials in and out, collecting fines, and issuing library cards
- Attend professional development opportunities to stay current on library trends and best practices

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of library systems, databases, and technology

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting
- Proficiency in multiple languages
- Familiarity with diverse literature

Location:
This position is located in Svalbard, an archipelago situated between Norway and the North Pole. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate if not already living in Svalbard.
