Contract Turner in Svalbard

We are seeking a skilled Turner to join our team on a contract basis in the beautiful city of Svalbard. As a Turner, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining lathes and other machinery used for shaping and cutting metal pieces. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities:
- Operate lathes, grinders, and other machinery to shape and cut metal pieces according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine required cuts and measurements
- Ensure accuracy of cuts by using precision measuring instruments
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance tasks
- Adhere to safety standards at all times

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Turner or in a similar role
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and operating heavy machinery
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

Preferred:
- Previous experience working with CNC machines
- Knowledge of various types of metals
- Familiarity with safety protocols for working with metal
- Experience working in a contract job setting

Salary: $1000 per month

Location: This position is based in Svalbard. Accommodation will be provided.
