Pastry Chef

A high-end bakery in the bustling city of New York is seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries, breads, and desserts. Your creativity and attention to detail will be showcased in our display cases and delight our customers. You must have a passion for pastry making, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1400 per week.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake various pastries, breads, and desserts according to recipes
- Create new and innovative pastry items to add to our menu
- Decorate pastries using various techniques such as icing, glazing, and piping
- Monitor inventory levels for ingredients and supplies needed for pastry production
- Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Train and supervise pastry assistants in proper techniques and procedures

Requirements:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience as a Pastry Chef
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a professional bakery or restaurant setting
- In-depth knowledge of different types of pastries and baking techniques
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with other team members
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience creating custom cakes for special occasions
- Knowledge of gluten-free or vegan baking methods
- Experience working with high-end clientele
- Passion for staying updated on current food trends
